Webinar: Using Connected Vehicle Technology To Deliver Timely Warnings To Pedestrians
Submitted by Jacob Heiden
Pedestrian injuries and deaths caused by collisions with motor vehicles are on the rise in the U.S. (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 2013). One factor that may increase the risk of such collisions is pedestrian mobile device use. The goal of this project is to use connected vehicles technology to deliver warnings to pedestrians via their mobile devices. Professor Joe Kearney, Department of Computer Science, and Jodie Plumert, Professor and Chair, Department of Psychology, discuss the bicycle and pedestrian simulator research at the Hank Virtual Environments Lab.
