Advancing Women in Transportation

An inaugural meeting for the creation of an Iowa Chapter of Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS), though the name is now a misnomer, was held in Ames, Iowa on June 13, 2019. WTS is an international organization with the mission of advancing both the transportation industry and the professional women who are a growing part of it (https://www.wtsinternational.org/). Three SAFER-SIM researchers attended, Cara Hamann, Dawn Marshall, and Michelle Reyes. It is exciting to be a part of expanding an organization that will help recognize and promote the many women involved in transportation careers in Iowa.
