Traffic Safety Merit Badge

8 Boy Scouts came to the University of Iowa on Saturday, March 3rd, to receive their Traffic Safety Merit Badge. SAFER-SIM displayed a Powerpoint discussing different aspects of driving safety and vehicle parts. Additionally, we did hands-on activities such as checking the tire tread, stopping distance, and showing them the different functions of a vehicle. A police officer then came in and they had a chance to ask him any questions they had.
